This is the personal website of Abhishek Goyal, based in Gurugram, India. I want it to collect as little as possible, and this page says exactly what that is. If anything changes, this page is updated before it does.
The short version
- Reading the site records nothing about you beyond what the host needs to serve pages.
- If you send an enquiry, I use it only to reply to you and follow up on that enquiry.
- Enquiries are deleted automatically 18 months after they arrive.
- If you sign up for the checklist, you get it once you confirm your email, plus occasional notes you can unsubscribe from at any time. Your address is deleted 30 days after you unsubscribe, or 30 days after signing up if you never confirm.
- Analytics run only if you accept them, and never receive your name, email or message.
- You can ask me to delete your data at any time: reply DELETE to my email, or write to contact@abhishekgoyal.me.
The contact form
What it collects. Your name and email, plus what you choose to tell me:
- for a project: company (optional), the kind of help you need, a budget range, a timeline and your message
- for a full-time role: company, role title, how the role is set up, a link to the job (optional) and your message (optional)
It also records the time you ticked the consent box, the page you first arrived on, and any campaign tags
in that page’s address (for example utm_source=linkedin) or the site that linked you here. Those help me
understand which posts and pages lead to real conversations. If you have accepted analytics, the form also
sends the anonymous Google Analytics ID for your visit (see below). The site does not store your IP
address.
Why. To reply to your enquiry and follow up about it. You give consent when you tick the box, and you can withdraw it at any time by asking me to delete your data. I never sell your data or use it for anything else, and sending an enquiry never adds you to my mailing list.
Spam protection. To keep bots out, the form uses Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks signals from your browser to tell people from bots, and a per-IP limit on how often it can be submitted.
The checklist and occasional notes
You can sign up on the checklist page, or choose “Just following along” on the contact form.
What it collects. Your email address, the time you ticked the consent box, and which form you used. Like the contact form, it also records the page you first arrived on, any campaign tags and the site that linked you here, plus the anonymous Google Analytics ID for your visit if you accepted analytics. It doesn’t ask for your name, and the site does not store your IP address.
How it works. Signing up sends you an email with a confirmation link. Nothing else is sent until you open the link and press Confirm, so nobody can sign you up without your say. The link works for 7 days. If you never confirm, your address is deleted 30 days after you signed up.
What you get. Once you confirm: an email with a link to the checklist, then occasional notes on what I’m building. I send no more than that, and I never sell your address or pass it on.
Why. To send you the checklist and the notes you asked for. You give consent when you tick the box and confirm your address.
Unsubscribing. Every note has an unsubscribe link. You can also reply UNSUBSCRIBE to any of my emails, or write to contact@abhishekgoyal.me. 30 days after you unsubscribe, your address and everything stored with it are deleted from the database, my Google Sheet and Resend. If you’d rather it went sooner, ask me to delete it.
The same spam protection applies as for the contact form: Cloudflare Turnstile and a per-IP limit.
Booking a call
If you book an intro call, you do that on Cal.com, which has its own privacy policy. Cal.com sends me the booking’s time, your name and your email, and I keep them with your enquiry.
Who processes your data for me

Some of these companies store data outside India, for example in the United States or the EU.
How long it is kept
Enquiries and bookings are deleted automatically 18 months after they arrive, from both the database and my Google Sheet. Checklist sign-ups are deleted automatically 30 days after you unsubscribe, from the database, the Sheet and Resend’s mailing list, or 30 days after signing up if you never confirmed. While you’re subscribed, they are kept until you unsubscribe. The confirmation and notification emails stay in the mailboxes until they are deleted. Delivery services such as Resend keep their own sending logs for a limited time under their own policies. If you ask me to delete your data, I remove it from the database, the Sheet and my inbox.
Analytics and cookies
- Google Analytics. A bar at the bottom of the page asks first. Nothing from Google loads until you
press Accept, and pressing Decline (or ignoring the bar) means nothing is sent. If you accept,
Google Analytics sets two cookies,
_gaand_ga_<id>, that expire after 6 months. It counts pages viewed, clicks on buttons such as “Start a project”, downloads of PDFs such as my resume, and whether you reached the end of a case study. It never receives your name, email or message. When an enquiry is saved, the site tells Google Analytics that an enquiry happened, with only its type, budget range and where the visit came from. When you confirm a sign-up, it tells Google Analytics that a sign-up happened, with only the form you used. Ad features and Google signals are switched off. - Changing your mind. Use Cookie settings at the bottom of any page. Declining after you accepted deletes the Google Analytics cookies. Your choice is saved in your browser’s storage for 6 months, then the bar asks again.
- Visit counts without cookies. Cloudflare Web Analytics counts page views without cookies and without identifying you, so I can see roughly how many people visit even when analytics are declined.
- Your theme choice. Saved in your browser’s storage if you switch between light and dark mode. It never leaves your device.
- Where you arrived from. The page you landed on and any campaign tags are kept in your browser’s session storage, which is cleared when you close the tab. They are sent only if you submit a form.
Server logs
The site is hosted on Cloudflare. To deliver pages and protect the site from abuse, Cloudflare processes technical request data such as your IP address, browser type and the page requested. I use these logs only to fix problems, and they are kept for a few days.
If you email me directly, I receive what you send through Google Workspace and use it only to reply. You can ask me to delete the conversation at any time.

Links to LinkedIn, GitHub, Google Play and Cal.com take you to sites with their own privacy policies.
Your rights
Under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (and the GDPR if you are in the EU), you can ask what I hold about you, and ask me to correct or delete it. Reply DELETE to my confirmation email, or write to contact@abhishekgoyal.me. I will act on it within 30 days, and usually much sooner.
This site is not meant for children under 18, and I don’t knowingly collect their data.
